Working The Funky Music

Funkfoot is putting out “Badunkafunk,” its freshmen CD, two years into the biz. The sound is hard to explain, says keyboardist Eric Strathmeyer. But you can expect “dance music; a lot of rock, a little bit of blues, a little bit of jazz and also a bit of hip hop. An interesting thing about us is we all work on the music. It all comes from our practice sets.”
The inspiration for the album’s moniker? “Its the name of one of the (album’s) songs, the first we’d ever written together as a group. It’s a sort of funny term … a twist on a word that means nice derriere.” Artist Jonathan Bradstreet designed the CD art, including an original painting. Bradstreet also designed the band’s T-shirt. A “Badunkafunk” release party is set for Dec. 1, at The Stone Church in Newmarket. For more dates, or a T-shirt, check out www.funkfoot.com.
